Tackle For Sale?

Tell us if you have some fishing tackle for sale!

Rodney Byles has this:-

Hi Everyone.

I am selling my Hardy Delux Classic 11ft, 335cm, 7/8 weight 3-piece fly rod, which I have had since new. It's had comparatively little use and is in excellent condition. I have put it up for auction on ebay at the following link.

Hope it's of interest and please feel free to ask any questions.

Crewil Pool Rules

As you are now aware we have been able to rent the above pool this year and have discussed at length the way to fish the pool it has been decided that there will be a marker positioned above the pool at approx the same level as the marker below the pool this will signify the depth of water running through and the method of bait used to fish it,

1. When the water is below the marker fly only and the same dates as for the bottom waters will apply.

2. When waters are higher than the marker any method of fishing can be used worm, spinning or fly.

We would like to point out at this stage that the rules in your permit holders are still to be adhered to.

Access will only be by walking to the pool from either Manordeilo, Glanrhyd pump house, Tyr Isaf or we have now obtained another access via Glanbrydan and this can be seen on the map which is included within this letter. No vehicles are allowed to access the pool only for maintenance purposes.

Problem with Comments?

Some members seem to be having difficulty posting comments for some reason? I have received 5 notifications from one member and two from another for each post - seems strange! I've tried it out myself and had no problem. Let me know if this problem continues and I will enquire with Google as to what is wrong.

Access to Crewel Pool and the bottom beat

With regard to accessing Crewel Pool I was thinking of asking LAL if they would be prepared to install a ladder just above the gate on the left hand bank (looking downstream). I and some of my friends have been crossing the river at this point last season to avoid By-Pass Hill and found it very convenient despite the steep slide down the bank into the river and the climb back up on the way back. I think that is where I ruined my waders last season! Despite allegedly having vehicular access to Crewel I personally will probably continue camping at Devanah and walking down each night to Crewel and the bottom beat. Are there any other anglers who might choose to use such a ladder? Obviously it wouldn't be worth putting one in just for me!

About Me

My Photo
Stourport, Worcestershire, United Kingdom
I have 2 main interests which are fly fishing for sewin on the River Tywi and photography! I have fished the Tywi for over 20 years at Llangadog so I know the river very well. Other than fishing the river I am an avid lover of it's wildlife and I can often be seen lurking in the undergrowth trying to photograph some of it's diverse wildlife. The Tywi is a wonderful place to fish and a great place to spend leisure time. It is without question one of my top wildlife habitats but also just a lovely place to relax and get next to nature!
